Health Resources Committee
Mission: To coordinate and direct our efforts towards providing advocacy, education, and cost effective solutions to help not only improve the quality of healthcare but also to address quality of life issues of GSCC members.
It has been an exciting year for the Health Resources Committee so far and we are currently planning and lookingforward to the Health and Wellness Fair to be held at the Greater Salem Boys & Girls Club on Saturday, May 12th from 12 noon to 5 pm. This event will be open to the public. We are reaching out to the many various health care providers (both Chamber members and Non-Chamber members) to join in and participate in the Fair and help us spread the word as to what Health and Wellness providers and resources are available in our communities. In the Spring, the Health Resources Committee sponsored the "Managing Employee Healthcare Costs- Your Latest Options" event featuring Thomas Harte. This event was hosted by Southern NH Universityin Salem and addressed the rising costs of Healthcare, current options, cost reductions and a panel discussion regarding Medicare Part D. Ongoing efforts in obtaining health insurance for Chamber members continue through a special task force led by Bob King.
The members are excited as we look to raise the level of awareness of many important issues and to attract a vibrant participation from the health community. We have received an enthusiastic response from many chamber members and welcome those looking to join our committee and actively participatein meeting our goals. For more information about participating in the Health Fair, general information or meeting times, please contact the Chamber Offices at 893-3177.
