A Word From the Chairman...
It is finally here!! Springtime is upon us. It seems that the nice weather brings renewed optimism and activity each year. This year, 2008, is no different and I am seeing businesses getting involved at the Chamber and attending events. It is a value propisition. Where else can you meet 300 or more business people for a few hundred dollars a year and choose the events you wish to attend? Although times are a little strained right now, there is still opportunitiy in the marketplace. As a business owner now is the time to evaluate your business model and review your current business plan. What worked two or three years ago, or even six months ago may not work now. Find a niche, learn about a new segment in the marketplace, and become an expert in that segment and pursue. It may be time to cold call again for business appointments, walk and talk visiting door to door, sending mailers or effectively using e-mail to market. Regardless of the method you use, the Greater Salem Chamber of Comerce is here for you, to bring you resources with database lists, phone #'s, advertising in the NEW directory or the monthly mewsletter and above all there is no replacement for building relationships through networking. Make this year your best ever by keeping a positive attitude! Thank you for being a member.
