Scholarship Committee
The Scholarship Committee has the pleasure and responsibility of selecting three students that will be this year’s Chamber Scholars. Their work began with the determination to update the application, make certain that it was marketed to all Chamber Business Members (eligibility is based on being an Employee of a member business, Child of an employee or Child of owner/principal of a member business) and that surrounding schools and colleges become aware of this Scholarship opportunity. The Committee members met and produced a form that provides the information necessary to judge each student on their educational merit and clarify the information that the applicant is required to provide. They also wanted to make it competitive with other local/national scholarship applications. Distribution of the scholarships has been changed to allow no penalty to the recipient/family for receiving this award. The selection process will be finalized after the application deadline of April 15th. There will be three scholarship winners, with the student attaining the highest cumulative score being honored with the Ray Landry Memorial Scholarship.
